Argentina Digital Nomad Visa: Complete 2026 Guide (TIE 24H)

Argentina's Digital Nomad Visa is refreshingly light on rigid financial thresholds compared to Portugal or Mexico — but it's also shorter (180 days) and has an extension rule that catches people off guard. Here's the real process.
Who Qualifies
- Nationality that doesn't require a tourist visa to enter Argentina
- Regular, stable income from remote work or freelancing tied to foreign clients/employer — proven via contracts, invoices, or bank statements (no officially fixed minimum amount)
- No criminal record in Argentina or any country you've lived in for 1+ year within the last 3 years
- Private health insurance providing full coverage in Argentina, including hospitalization and emergency treatment
Required Documents
- Valid passport
- Contract, company endorsement letter, or invoices/receipts proving remote income
- A signed request note stating your personal data and the remote work activity you'll be doing
- A brief CV showing your relevant experience and education level
- Apostilled criminal background check
- Private health insurance policy covering the full intended stay
- Proof of accommodation in Argentina
Two Ways to Apply
Option 1: TIE 24H (Online)
The Electronic Entry Processing (TIE 24H) route is done entirely online through Argentina's National Migration Directorate and, if your documentation is complete, is typically resolved within 10–15 business days. Once issued, the TIE 24H certificate is valid for 3 months for its first use — and importantly, you should not enter Argentina before your request is actually resolved.
Option 2: Consulate Application
Apply in person at an Argentine consulate before traveling — recommended to submit at least 45 days ahead of your planned travel date. A common practical approach: enter Argentina as a tourist (90 days, extendable once), then apply for the Digital Nomad visa before that tourist permit expires.
The one-time extension requires at least 50% physical presence in Argentina during the period being extended. If you're planning to travel extensively in and out of the country, factor this in before assuming you'll qualify for the extension.

- TIE 24H electronic entry: 120 consular units plus a consular act fee
- In-country transitory residence: 16 UMSM for MERCOSUR/associated nationals, 32 UMSM for others
Common Mistakes
- Not apostilling documents (criminal record checks especially) before submission
- Assuming there's a fixed minimum income figure — the real bar is demonstrating stable, credible foreign income, not hitting a specific number
